rough idle when weather is warm????????

Default rough idle when weather is warm????????

have a 89 b150. 220,000 miles. when the weather is hot, weather the vehicle is warm or cold, the engine spits and sputters for about 45 seconds when started. then it all smooths out. also the vehicle hesitates when you press on the gas, this happens regularly... any information?????????

if it has a carburetor, the accellerator pump could be clogged..it happened on my 76 toyota once.

It's fuel injected and I would think you have a bad fuel pump. Have you done a complete tuneup to it and replaced all the filters. Could also be a bad TPS sensor or Coolant Temperature Sensor.
Try this, the next time it is warm and you try to start it. Turn the key to "ON" for a few seconds, then "off", do this 3 or 4 times and then try to start it as normal. If it starts up right away and runs better, you have a fuel problem, most likely the pump.
