Default Code 43

my 97 dodge ram has been dieing on me while driving or idling, but it will start up right away. I checked the codes with the ignition on off on off on. It threw code 43. Spark/Ignition Control Circuit Problem. It says probable causes are defective ignition coil, module or computer. I have a brand new coil though. How can i test the module or computer?

Default RE: Code 43

Was this before or after you changed the wires? I would clear the codes now that the new wires are installed and see if the code comes back. If you do get any codes, get the computer scanned and get the exact failure code/s. 43 is a general igition failure, could mean multiple misfires, single misfires, coil problems, etc. The codes you would get when scanned would be like a P0300 or something similar.
