Default Question?

I have a question for anyone that knows dodge.. I have a 2001 dodgeram 5.2 fuel injuected truck... It has been giving me some trouble lately by not wanting to crank.... It will wind out and then crank up giving a strong stinch of gas smell out of the tail pipes.. could it be the fuel pressure regulator or is my fuel pump going bad.....

Default RE: Question?

If your smelling fuel then your getting gas. I think the regulator is built into the fuel pump so it would not cause a smell. I would suspect a spark issue such as cap, rotor or coil. Try to do a spark test when you have the no start condition. While the vehicle is running at nite yu could also spray a water mist ( with a spray bottle ) on the coil and plug wires to see if vehicle dies or arcing occurs.
