Brake Light Failure

I have had both brake lights fail. Checked fuses and bulbs but all look good. The high mount brake light on the tail gate works. Any suggestions?

type of vehicle? usually the turn signal switch though, sometimes a underhood fuse.

The brake lights take dual filament bulbs. If you replaced them with single filaments bulbs, this could be the problem as alot of bulbs look alike!
