Default how big is this engine?

Hey, I'm new. but I'm looking into buying a '92 Dodge pickup. 4X4 with a 5.2L V8 SMPI OHV 16V engine. my question is how big is this engine? 327ci? how is this engine too? is it reliable and good with power? I used to drive a '03 chevy s10 with a 4-banger. so I have no idea what it's like to drive a V8.....so any info would be great.

Thanks,
Larry

The 5.2 Magnum V8 is a 318 c.i.d. that produces 230 hp and 295 ft-lbs Torque. My last truck (98' Dak.) had one and they are a bullet proof motor. With this V8 in your dakota (like mine), you will find that power is never ever a problem, always always ALWAYS plenty of power, i would bet that you will be very pleased. I see you are looking at a 92', which is good b/c that is the year they re-tuned the motors to the "Magnum" motors, gave the HP and TQ gains. This truck will abslolutely drive circles around your S-10, despite the difference in year.

wow. that really is a huge step from a 4-banger. the s-10 is now dead. hence my login name...haha.
but anyway. I don't think it's a dakota, at least it didn't say it was. when I entered the VIN...all it said was that it's a '92 Dodge W-150. whatever that means.

thanks for the info on the engine though.

OOOHHHH ok whoa whoa whoa.........

A W-150 is like a Power Ram, it was the 1st generation dodge ram 1500, big difference than a dakota there!!!!! Still power wont be an issue, those are nice old trucks, you'll enjoy the V8.

(except at the pump)

haha...I should have thrown that in there earlier. yeah, at the pump is gunna suck (litterally)...but at least it'll be fun once I leave the pump.
at least now I know how to look up accessories for it.
you wouldn't happen to know what kind of speakers they put in these trucks, do you?

Thanks,
Larry

Negative on the speakers, i do not know.....in my 98' i have the factory infinity 6x9's...........yours though i have no idea, sorry. If you like loud music or a clear, crisp sound, your gonna want to upgrade from the 92' sound system most definatly.
