dodge neon 2003 tire problem
Hey im hearing a loud sound when i am driving in the city and highway on the passenger side of my neon, it even gets louder when i make turns too it seems. I just had an alignment done a few months ago and it doesnt pull on either side nor does the steering wheel shake. maybe a bad ball bearing? dont know if there is a ball bearing in the front i know there is in the back. Tires are brand new too. good year ones. Maybe a cvjoint is bad. i was probally going to take it to monroe and have them look at it and see . If anyone may know let me know thanks
Wheel bearing most likely. They are called hub bearings. Last I cheked they are around $250 per side plus labor which should be about 1 to 1.5 hrs. Shop needs to do it unless you have access to a impact to remove the axle nut. If so the pull the wheel, caliber and bracket assembly, axle nut, the 3 or 4 bolts from the back of spindle that hold the hub. Pull the old assembly out and reverse to install.

yeah i took it and and that is the problem. im just going to get the entire hub assembly and do it myself alot cheaper. btw any idea what size the shaft nut 1" is too small thinking maybe 2" or mm?
yeah its 32mm, autozone didnt know what size so i had to rent 4 just so i didnt have to run around like a chicken. heh.
I had monroe press on the bearing for me for 20 bucks, about a 6 hour job it took taking it apart and crap. Its fixed and runs like a champ now.
