Overheating help
I have a 94 Shadow. It was overheating a bit, changed rad and stat. now it is overheating within 15 min at 60 mph. After a trip, took off cap and had to add half a jug of premix. I see no leaks under car but when it overheats fan blows cold air inside car. Also noticed today that rad fan does not come on. Suggestions please. Also the signal indicator left/right doesn't work either. Bulbs are good, could only find hazard flaser unit. Does this car have a signal flasher unit?..Thank for the help in advance.
Sounds like a flow problem. I would say you either have a blockage somewhere or the water pump is on its way out. It could be a headgasket too. I would do a flush and fill and check the flow.
It sounds to me like you do have a leak somewhere.Try starting the car and letting it warm up in the driveway and look for leaks.Head gasket leaks will cause steam to come out the tailpipe.Other leaks will drip out onto the ground.A leak at the weep hole in the waterpump means the bearings are failing because of bad seals and needs replaced.
If your fan is not comming on the either the fan relay is bad or could be a fan controle module bad. Not sure on the neon. But that will cause the car to overheat and loose coolent via the overflow tank. Had same problem on a 97 intrepid
