CAI's are supposed to re-route the intake so that the engine gets cooler air, right?

But looking at the stock intake on my Intrepid, it looks like it's already pulling air from a cool source.

So what's the big deal about the CAI then?

 

Possibly a couple of HP maybe and the look and sound cool!
