door ajar light

Default door ajar light

Can someone please help me with my plymouth neon the problem I am having is the door adjar light and the interior light will not turn off it stays on and when I drive it makes this flicking sound like it might be electrical problem checked fuses but could not find the one that controls the door adjar light . Thank You cannot wait to find out what is wrong[>:]

If your door is ajar, try putting a lid on it.

probalby just the door jamb switch.
on my dakota and my grandpas older caravan, its just like a plunger assembly that is on the door frame, and, when the door is closed, pushes the switch in and shuts the light off.
the black part in the picture would contact the actual door, and it threads into the vehicle door frame.
some newer vehciles have a differant setup.

Speaking of that switch, that's a good place to check... on my 93 Sonoma, the switch got some sand in it and it would stick in the off/closed position. When I'd open the door, the interior lights wouldn't come on. Took me forever to figure it out

ive actualy got that some problem with my dakota, but, im too lazy to fix it.

Actually it sounds like it could be your interior light switch (dimmer switch)
