Default engine swap

can any one tell me if an 2004 dodge ram v8 would fit in to a 1996 dodge and would the wiring be totaly diffrent

I'll assume Ram
yes it should fit, (measure twice, cut once) the mounts would be different tho
yes, the wiring would be absolutly different but if you get the wiring from the new one you could swap it out which would be better to do anyway...

That wouldn't work for him. The wiring wouldn't match up.

What motor are you trying to take from an 04 Ram? The 5.9L 360? I hope so. The 4.7 and 5.7 wouldn't be easy swaps at all...and in NO way direct. The 5.9 would be the only direct motor swap. Just put the new motor in, and use the sensors/harness/computer from a 96 5.9L. You shouldn't have any issues doing it that way.
