This is my first post here on the forum. I hope I am putting this in the right place.

I have a 1992 Dodge Spirit 4cyl.

Sometimes when I accelerate the accelerator gets stuck. The pedal itself doesn't stick just the accelerator. Last night I was able to cruise at 27mph without my foot on the gas and about 45 on the freeway. Sometimes it just takes of and gets faster and faster. Can Anyone help me? I have no clue what is going on. Thanks everyone.

 

the first thing i'ld do is open your hood and see if the throttle body is sticking. maybe clean it off with some carb cleaner or something

 

Thanks timwag2001 for the quick reply. My father did that last night. He sprayed it with some WD40 type stuff. Im not sure if that has completely fixed the problem or not. Is there anything else that it could be in the case it still sticks?
