Default Dodge Ram Warning Chime

My husband has a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 crew cab. A couple of weeks ago the warning chime started dinging for no reason. Seat belt was on, plenty of fuel, no doors were open, etc. There is no rhyme or reason to it. It doesn't seem to happen in the city, just on longer drives. It isn't constant, either. It will ding once, then a few minutes later twice, then once again, then about 15 times in a row - enough to make you want to drive it into a tree!! We stopped and checked the fuses, but they looked fine. Any ideas on what the problem could be? We sure would be grateful!! -Dawn
