Repeatedly blown “A/C Clutch” Fuse
Hi
Driving a 96 Grand Caravan, 3.8.
My A/C has been working fine for some time now when suddenly yesterday morning is quit working as a result of a blown “A/C Clutch” fuse, located under the hood on the main fuse panel.
The fuse is a 15A and after I replaced the fuse its blew again several seconds later. I repeated this process six more times (trying to head off on a long trip) and each time the fuse blew again right away. I placed the 15A fuse with a 20A fuse and this also blew right away so I stopped at this point and continued my trip without A/C.
Each time I replaced the fuse I tried slightly different things such as turning the A/C off maximum, turning the blower fan down to the lowest level, turning the temperature control off of cold initially. All of these things made no difference in the fuse blowing immediately or after just a few seconds at the most.
Does anyone have specific or general insight as to what may be causing this fuse to blow; or a fuse to repeatedly blow in this manner.
Thank you in advance.

Probably the compressor clutch coil is shorted. Unplug the wire connector at the a/c compressor to veify. Do not know if clutch assembly available separate, may need complete compressor.
