dose any one know why they call a hemi a hemi

because the part of the engine that produces the bang is hemi-spherical shaped. i believe it's an exclusive design that only chrysler uses.

HA HA I did i found it a hemi is short for hemispherical combustion chamber which means bigger valves for the car to suck in air and fuel and it ensures a complete burn of fuel with 2 spark plugs and there is less surface area than other cars in the cylinder and that means less heat is lost through the cylinder heads
