Default High Milage Engine Oil Good?

I got an '89 Ram 250 with a 318 V8 with 124k on it.

Should I use one of the "High Milage Engine Oils" that are made now?

What the difference between that stuff and regular oil anyway?

It has a different additives package in it that helps restore dried or shrunken seals. It also cleans somewhat better than regularly formulated oil.

I've been using it in my vehicles for 7 years now. My dad has been using it for almost 15 years. Neither of us have had any engine problems, at least none that would be related to oil. A water pump going out for instance has nothing to do with oil [8D]

Nope...higher mileage oil still comes in 10w30 and 5w30. I use them for summer and winter respectively.
