I have a 86 dodge ramcharger and when i start it i have to hold the key over to start and it will run but when i let off it quits. I changed the ballast resistor and it did not help. Does anyone know what it might be?

It could be the Ignition switch itself..... If you have a schematic there is a "Start" wire that's only "hot" when the key is turned all the way to start
and there's a "Run" wire that's only "hot" when the key turned to run
