Default problem acelerating

Help!! Just recently my car started acting up. When I go up the slightest incline or uphill at all, the car slows down rather than accelerating. If I keep my foot on the pedal, eventually it picks up really fast. And sometimes pumping the pedal works. Now, it is starting to do it all the time, basically any time after I come to a stop and try to go again. And it shudders while idling. Anyone got an idea what this is? BTW, I have a 95 Shadow

yes restricted exhaust, check if you feel any pressure coming out of the tailpipe with your hand.
there was another post today "1992 Dodge Spirit help" same engine.
that was a good car to have back then, just remember keep a pick-up coil in your glovebox and anything I forgot, keep a spare head gasket under the seat.
I am really liking this site.

one more thing, check the timing, those rubber timing belts jump teeth when they wear. it will run bad all of the time..idle and high speed.
