Dodge Automatic Transaxle
I am trying to help a friend with a leaking transaxle problem in a 1994 Dodge Spirit 3.0 V6. When she first brought the car to me it had a leak in the transaxle pan that looked like the last guy who replaced the filter didn't get the gasket in place properly. I removed old gasket and installed a new one. Checked everything out and serviced with fluid. Worked great for me so I had her pick it up. After a few days of daily driving it started to leak again. She brought the car over and the same thing had happened, but in a different spot on the pan. It appears that the seal was pushed out from the matting surfaces as if there was too much pressure in the pan. I checked the dipstick/ vent tube but it didn't appear to be clogged. Is ther a problem with the transaxle that is causing too much pressure in the pan and blowing the seal? Any idea how to fix it?
Also, food for thought: when I bought the pan gasket the guy at the parts store gave me the wrong on and when I went back he double checked his parts numbera and said he gave me the corrct one for my make and model. After some computer seqarching we found a match and he said that it was supposed to fit a Chrysler Lebaron. Now what?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Was it a cork style gasket or a rubber gasket?
As far as the gasket application, Chrysler used the same transmission in a lot of vehicles. Odds are the Spirit and the Lebaron shared transmissions...since they shared the same motors...along with pretty much all the other FWD chrysler corp. cars.
