Default 2001 Durango Electrical problems

Hey all,

Just bought a 2001 Durango Sport 4x4 with a 4.7L. Love the truck and it's got great punch for something so big (comparing this to our '91 Camaro for pick up I'm very impressed). Anyway, the day I bought the truck I stated having some electrical problems. [] The auto locks will always unlock the doors but most times won't lock the doors. Also, when I turn the switch to bring on the dash lights or the headlights all digital displays go out out (can't see kms, gear selection, radio lights). Darn frustrating but not to the point where I'm unhappy with the truck. Trying to get it looked at soon but if there are any ideas out there I'd appreciate it. Also, is it possible to disconnect the tailgate from the auto locks so it doesn't unlock. At least that way I can use the unlock feature and not worry if I forget to lock the gate. Thanks a bunch!

Regarding the dash lights disappearing, yeah ID-10-T error. [&:] Sorry about that. Seems someone (read me) had turned the dimmer off. Still have the door lock issue though ... really I do.[&o]

Should be under the hood by the battery in a black box. Take the top of the box off and look at the underside of the box to see which relay it is.
