Are the exhaust manifolds on a 1988 W100 4x4 with the 5.2L 318 motor th identical on both the passenger side and the drivers side???? All aftermarket dealers list the same cast #s fot the right and left side! The old manifolds have the same cast# 387005???? What is the easiest way to remove the old rusted badboys from the old motor? any suggestions??? Are the 5.9L 360 motor and 318 manifolds compatible???

There is a left and right. Other wise one would be mounted upside down or it would face forward. I think the part number should have a suffix. Like 555555-1 and 555555-2.
