I own a 2000 3.3L Grand Caravan Sport. The manual says to use ATF+4 tranny fluid but around 2003(?) I received a "maintenance manual addendum" to change the fluid spec from ATF+4 to ATF+3 and to replace the fluid more frequently. I've since changed the fluid to ATF+3 and now it's due another tranny oil change. I tried to get ATF+3 (like my manual calls for, after the addendum change) but the dealerships tell me that dodge no longer makes ATF+3 and that I need ATF+4. So essentially I'm going against the manual if I use ATF+4. WHAT IS THE RIGHT FLUID SPEC?? WHY HASN'T DODGE UPDATED or CHANGED THE MANUAL BACK TO THE ORIGINAL SPEC IF ATF+3 IS NO LONGER USED?? Any ideas or help would be appreciated....

 

IAW TSB 21-010-06 (Dated April 14, 2006), use ATF+4.
