Default wiring overheating?

In my truck this afternoon my girlfriend noticed something hot radiating from under the glove box. she bumped something with her foot and complained that it had burned her foot. when we parked I checked for heat around the floor of the passenger seat. The heat dissapated fast but there was some heat coming off one of the wiring clips under the glove box. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it a common problem? what could it be? Please Help!!

Default RE: wiring overheating?

Could have been the blower resistor. It's mounted under the HVAC box, on the passenger side lower dash area. If it burned her foot, I'd take it back to the dealer and see if they can shield it some how. That or tell your girlfeiend not to stick her feet up under the dash like that.
