I have a 04 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 4.7v8(287 I think) and i was wondering what would be better FlowMasters or a set of 10in glasspacks? im looking for a loud but agressive sound this is my first v8(im 16, and no my mom and dad dont pay for my truck I do lol)so I wont it to sound really nice the first time and not have to go around with a sucky sound, and if so FlowMasters what sires? 40s or 50s I have thought about the super 40s but there so high and if any one here has a sound file of there truck with pipes with the same size engin please feel free o post it or give me a link to it or anything thank alot Dusty.

 

It depends alot on your personal preferences and tolerances, but personally, the 40's are a bit on the loud side, the glasspacks are the poster child of the loud side. The 50's are probably your best choice if you still want something that makes some good noise.

 

i would think so too i like the sound of glasspacks but they dont ahve any personality to them no matter what the truck or engine size you can tell if it ahs glass packs on it or not flowmasters have that agressive but still here me roar sound to it and then also sounds good in shifting too but yeah i did notice the 40s are alot louder than the 50s on there site ill just have to ask around some too i guess any way thanks for the help ill look into the 50s.

 

Well i Just asked one guy that does exaust and he said on that size of engine that with true duals 40s were the way to go but the price if i remember right is 350 bucks...i know for sure its over 300 bucks but im going to ask around at some other exaust places to find out some other prices.
