Navigation unit problem....
Car is an 05 Magnum AWD RT with 63,000 Miles.
Ok, I have been to my local dealer but he has nothing to say other than pulling the head unit and sending it in to the Dodge repair shop. But the problem is I do not have any warenty left on my car so I would have to pay for all of it. Not into that in the end.
Ok, What is wrong? Well button that scanns in on the map and moves themap around is broken internally. It spins but has lost all feeling and it doesnt move themap around very well at all. So it is out so far that I cant see any of the roads and wont scann in so I can which in the end is all I really want it to do. Yesterday, I tried to take it apart to get into the switch but I could not get the face off of the unit. Almost like it is glued to the screen. Yes I pulled all of the screws out. Ity bitty ones too!
Now is one of these dial/switches avalable anywhere? Is it something I am going to be able to fix or do I just have to spend the$1000 for a new unit? Seems pretty silly to have one little thing break and cost that much to replace.
Anyone have any better ideas or places where I could buy one of these pieces? Or any ideas on fixing it?
Help and thanx!
Vic
