Default HVAC controls

I have a 02 1500 w/o dual climat control. Problem is my wife says she gets very little air on her side of truck, she says my friends 04 1500 works better. I have noticed that the floor duct does not stop when I have it on panel only. I'm thinking that it might be one of the door actuators, or the control panel. Anybody have any Ideas for me, all help will be greatly appreciated.

I've seen a few trucks shipped WITHOUT a HVAC filter or cover!!!!
or.....you might have a broken blend door & stop

If you're talking about the filter on the fresh air door it is there, as for the cover I do beleive it's there also. How do I go about fixing this problem? My book only shows a filter at the fresh air door.

I also own a 2002 1500 with a similar problem. This morning, on my way to work, I changed the vent controller for panel to max panel. Instead of blowing more air, the vents changed from the panels only to th floor. now I can't get the panels to blow air through them at all. I can still change from the defrost to the floor, but when I turn the vent control to any of the panel settings, it will stay at either the defrost or floor, whichever one it was on. Or it will go directly from the defrost to the floor and visa versa. Do you think the dash unit control has gone bad?

Sounds like your blend door is broken, mine was also. Took it in and they replaced it, works perfect now. Yours sounds just like mine except you go alittle further to the broken side.
