1989 Dodge Dakota Pick- Up
I Need to find the fuel line diagrams for my truck. Can Anyone help have had truck less than a year and am not familiar with the Dodge set up. trying to fix a leak in fuel lines by the drivers door.
Did you ever find the diagrams. I have a leak under the driver's door also. Looks to be coming from the connection where the steel fuel line goes into a braided fuel line. I can't seem to find a tool to work the fitting.
Can you get us a picture of this connection?
I'm not familiar with the older Dakotas.
There's usually not that much to a fuel system where you would need diagrams. There's usually only two lines. A feed and a return.

That's a quick disconnect fuel fitting commonly found on fuel pumps and fuel rails. It's strange to see it in the location that it is though [&:]
You can disconnect it one of two ways...either by squeezing the black plastic and pulling it apart (that's the way I've always done it)...or by going to an auto parts store and getting a fuel line tool. They make two styles. One is a double ended "wrench" and the other is basically two pieces of plastic that you shove into the fitting. The plastic one is for use when you can't get the wrench style tool in close enough or get it around the line.
Your best bet is to get one of the tools to minimize the chance of breaking anything. I believe they're rather cheap.
