Default Intake??

So i have bought a K&N drop in air filter, from the start i should of bought a CAI. Just a question wat is a overall good CIA?? Iv been looking on ebay at the intakes they have for this year of truck. They are soo cheap, would you think they would be any good? Some even come with a K&N air filter.

Btw its a 1999 Dodge Dakota 5.2 L

With the K&N, you're pretty much just paying for the name. I've got one, and looking back, should have saved the cash and bought an ebay kit for 1/4 the price and maybe just got the filter from K&N. Live and learn.

I got the stainless one, but most people will tell you to buy the plastic ones as the metal on the stainless heats up a lot more, heating the air flowing through. Even on K&N's web site I think there's a 1 - 2 hp difference between the plastic and stainless versions. I like the looks of the stainless though, that's why I went with it.
