how do peeps make an intake without buying one? I mean you need something flexibal with a 5 inch hole and no taller than 4 and a half inches to fit under the hood? Id like to do it but dunno what kind of material i could use to do that.

There are many different ways to do it and several different materials which you can use. The best way and material is aluminum or stainless steel are the best, but plastic works well too. You can also use aluminized steel if the other two are too hard to come by or too expensive. Exhaust piping can be used and any exhaust shop or speed shop should have it or be able to get it up to 5" in diameter. The easiest and cheapest way I can think of would be to buy a long enough section of piping in the size you want and get a cheap pipe cutter in the size you need. Then check it out to see where you plan to route it to and the easiest and most direct path to take and then figure out how many bends you will need to get the job done. After you've done this you know how many and what type (90 deg., 45 deg., etc.) bends you need to buy, you can get them already made or you can have an exhaust shop make them for you. If you get them already made they will be or can be had with mandrel bends, but if you have them made at an exhaust shop they will most likely be compression bent which reduces the pipes size whereas mandrel bending keeps it the same size throughout. The rest is simply cutting the straight piping down to the sizes you need and either clamp it together or weld it together. To do it right though you will want to clamp or weld at least one piece of flat metal with a hole in it that you can bolt to part of the vehicle to take the weight off of the part where it attaches to the throttle body/breather. The only things left to get are the filter to fit and a section of rubber or silicon hose the right size to attach it to the throttle body or the breather, whichever the vehicle uses, and then your done.
