Default intake, exhaust and chip recomendations

I am picking up a 2000 Ram in a few days and just registered to this site today. I plan on doing an intake, exhaust, and chip setup very soon. I am having the exhaust custom made. i havent completely hashed out the details yet but the guy doing it is a hell of a welder and has a mandrel bender and he says he wants to do a true dual setup. I have not picked out mufflers yet and am looking for suggestions. I dont want it too loud but i do want it deep. I am mostly looking for power gain but not at the cost of being too obnoxius, this is still a daily driver. I am looking at the K&N intake with heat shield and am certainly willing to do a larger throttle body if anyone knows where to get one and can vouch for its effectiveness. Finally i am looking at getting the superchips setup. I am hoping that since the superchips setup is programmable that i will be able to get perormance when i want to go fast, pulling power when i wanna tow the boat, and economy when im broke from spending all my money on this dam truck [8D]as it is supposed to include different fuel maps for this. Mostly i am looking for evaluations from experience and suggestions as i am certainly not dead set on this equipment. Any suggetions on ignition upgrades are also welcome. Thank you and i will look for your posts.

i highly recommend the superchips tuner!!!!! as far as intake and exhaust, what motor is in the ram. i hav the 287 and i went with a magnaflow 3 in in dual 2 1/2 out, it is quiet and deep when cruising around, but when you mash the gas it is awesome sounding. as far as intake i have owned, K&N, volant, and a few others, i got more hp gain out of the one i built.

Get Flowmasters! I have a 40 series on my 318 and the sound and performance gains are great. I have not noticed any mileage gains, but it hasn't been really long enough to tell.
