Default Question about intake upgrades for a 2002 Ram 1500 3.7L

I am planning on putting a 1" throttle body spacer on my 3.7L as well as removing the stock intake and replacing it with a new FIPK or CAI. I'm not sure which brand to go with and I'm curious if anyone out there may have some history with doing this type of work. I can do the work no problem, however with so many products out there I'd like to get a feel of what performs better, i'm looking for advice and whatever suggestions possible. On a side note, what is the purpose of the resonator box? Also, i've noticed a few people post about the flowmaster 40 series. I put a 40 series si/do dumped about 2 feet before my rear axle and I couldn't be happier with the results. More HP, Torque, slight increase on MPG (1-2.5) and 15% (roughly) lowered engine temp which is great especially in Texas! I apprecite y'alls time and look forward to responses!

Tex,
Do you get the high pitch, ricer sound above 3000RPMS with your 40 series. I have the delta not dumped with about 250 miles now. It sounds kinda ricey at high RPM's. Other guys said that is normal for 6's.

Just lookin around the K&NFIPK is like 250$ or just check around ebay you can get one for like 50$ or less ... i did the ebay route and it does the same thing that the 250$$$$$ one does just saving myself money and adding more HP... i have a 40 flowmaster sounds great!!
