Default Cat-backs, warranty and legality

Hey all, I'm about ready to drop some bankage on a new Borla cat-back, split-side exhaust system for my 05 Ram QC 5.7L Hemi. My questions are about the warranty. I thought I read somewhere in the forum (not sure where though) that getting a cat-back system will NOT void the warranty on a new Ram. However, there are some people at work that say different. They said that if you change any engine part within the warranty time frame you will void the warranty. Anyone know about this? I have a 98 Honda Civic that I've dropped and added an intake and an exhaust and no one (DMV-wise said a thing). I live here in SoCal so the CARB-****'s are in effect. Help me out all.....regardless, I'm still getting it.

Thanx

Default RE: Cat-backs, warranty and legality

The Moss-Magnusson Act, stipulates dealers cannot void warranties because vehicles have aftermarket parts. If the dealer can prove a particular aftermarket the part caused a particular failure/malfunction, they can disallow the claim for that issue only.
