2004 Ram Hemi Intake
I have a ram hemi with true dual flowmaster exhaust and I have been looking all over at intakes and I have no clue which one would give the best performance to a hemi, I have looked at afe's, trueflow and other types. I have also heard alot of stuff about hemi's having problems with performance parts. I have even heard that my true dual exhaust may even made me loose performance because of less back preasure. Can someone help me out?
I don't know how much difference there actuallyis between the 5.7L Hemi in my '04 Ram, and the 5.7L Hemi in the '06 Charger R/T I just traded in last week, but I had done numerous mods to the Charger including headers, catback Borla exhaust, hi-flo cats etc... and the engine just kept developing more & more power, never less. The Hemi, just like any other normally aspirated engines performs better with more air/fuel in, and an equal increase in moving the air out. Of course there is overkill in any vehicle that will definately reduce/impair performance because of lack of back pressure, such as throwing on 3" straight pipe exhaust, without increasing the actual power made at the motor. In short, if you have used the recommended aftermarket parts(headers/exhaust) for your vehicle, there shouldn't be any power loss due to reduction in back pressure.
