K&N FIPK II
I have a stupid question to ask, I have a K&N FIPK II on my 05 4.7l QC and noticed that since I put it on I get crappier gas mileage
which is what I expected, But I was told by a dodge technician is that you lose some low end torque by opening the airway. Does anyone know if this is true? Since having the K&N I have noticed that when I am cruising at about 40mph and need to go faster I give it a little more gas and it sounds like the truck is bogging out so then I have stomp it a little to get it to downshift or turn overdrive off.
With the stock air box I don't remeber it doing it this often. I appreciate the help.

any time you add parts to your dodge you should always reset the computer and drive it about 50-60 miles thats how long it will take the comp to adjust ,,as for the bogging down if reseting the comp does not help check the trans cable that is hooked to the passenger side of the throttle body make sure it is a little loose
i have an 05 4.7 dakota and with the k/n i have more power and more fuel mileage. a lot of people dont know that anytime you up grade your vehicle you need to disconnect the negative battery terminal wait a few minutes and install. start and stop truck three times. after third time keep truck running this will enable computer to sense more air flow and start to recalibrate your air fuel mixture. also try relocating you iat sensor. its the plug thats in the intake tube. if you broke this unit your truck wont run right. this sensise the amount of cold or warm air running into the throttle body. by leaving it were it is in the intake tube, it gets false readings from the engine heat. by relocating it closer to the filter it will pick up cooler air and also adjust your air fuel mixture for better performance and mileagethis is a quick and easy mod.
try relocating you iat sensor. this is the sensor that sits in the intake tube. by moving down the tube closer to the air filter this will pick up cooler air from outside instead of warmer air coming of the engine. its a simple and free mod. it tells the pcm to adjust for better air fuel mixtiure.
