Default Dual exhaust on 2000 Intrepid

So, I was looking at the maintenance manual for my Trep, and I noticed that the exhaust system is dual off of the manifolds all the way down to a resanator, with dual cats before the resanator. So, would I be able to change the system to a dual system by taking off everything after the cats and running dual pipes/mufflers? The O2 sensors seem to be in the cats themselves. Would my ECU pitch a fit due to the change in backpressure? I have no problem with the asthetics of running both pipes in the stock location assuming that they would fit. GIven that it is the 3.2, I don't think I would need overly large pipes.

i'd say do it with 2 inch pipes, they'd keep the velocity high, try to get an 'X' pipe in there for more power & a unique sound, then run a dual path muffler, or a dual inlet/outlet flowmaster, but i think a dual path muffler would sound better

good luck, & if you live in MD i could possibly build this system for you...
