Default cold air intake thoughts

hey guys i got a couple questions i am looking into putting a cold air intake on my 2006 hemi. my main question is what type to get
1. ebay type cold air intake with filter pipe and fittings for 50-60bucks
2. 120 buck ebay type with kand n filter and all the fittins
3. mopar made cold air intake for 300 bucks

whats the difference in each and what kind of gains are yall seeing with your trucks my old 454 use to have a k and n system and it did all right.
thanks

one thing you want to look at is quality. with mopar its no question. i have a K&N and have trusted this brand for years. i would be careful of "no-name" intakes due to quality, fit and durability. something else you want to consider is the diameter of the tubing. obviously a smaller pipe wont move air as efficiently. lastly make sure your getting a good filter (again being careful of no-name filters)

go with a K&N or Mopar. shop around, believe it or not Ebay is not always the cheapest!!!

no matter what exhaust you get for the mds when the other cyl. cut back it wont sound as throtty.i ran the hearthrob on my 97 5.2 and it sounded very good. also as far as the intake i have always went with the k/n fipk. other people manufacture there intakes with plastic tubing from the hardware store, not good. at least with a reputable intake they come with the proper mounting brackets and inlets and outlets for hoses. if you can get a deal at your aunts shop i would take advantage of it.

They do make an exhaust for the 06' which "supposedly" was manufactured specifically with the MDS System in mind. Im not sure what company makes them but if you do a search in the 3rd gen section you should be able to find a link for them. As for the intake, Im in the same boat. I wont go with the K&N though I do know that much. I've read about to many problems with the plastic intake tube chipping/breaking off inside and sucking those particals into the intake. The three Im looking into right now are the AFE High Breather, the AEM, and the Mopar intakes.
