Ive got an 06 dakota quad cab slt 3.7 v6 auto. I need POWER. Can anyone help? Im not tryin to put some parts on it that will just throw off the timing and not improve performance. Im thinking high performance suspension and brakes (possibly a rear disc brake upgrade) to assist the new wheels and tires ive got coming. For the engine im thinking some form of intake and exhaust with a new chip. Any suggestions? If anyone has similar mods on their dakota and are satisfied, please let me know. Your feedback will be very helpful.

i have the 05 dak in the 4.7 version, strong motor from the start, currently put the 206 cams in the engine with the pcm flash that is piggy backed to my jet stage 2 chip, there is not much out there for the 6 cyl. performance. but if you are going with bigger tires you might want to change your gear ratio. and if the truck is 4 x 4 it will be costly. a simple intake and cat back exhaust will help, also change out the factory thermostat to a 180. a cooler engine make better power. here are some of my mods

Id get new gears for sure. It'll feel like youve gained alot of hp. K&n intakes are good, there are a ton of exhaust systems out there. I went with flowmaster.
