I just replaced my cat and muffler on my '98. 5.2. Single exhaust, higher flowing Walker cat (supposedly rated for up to a 454 CI engine) and Dynomax Super Turbo. Nice tone, not too loud, hear a little bit of a hum in the cab but not irritating . Don't know about my mileage yet, haven't checked.

The larger the muffler is the more quite it will be...
larger muffler = less interior noise
