hey guys, i just bought my first truck, im only 17. anyway, its an 03 4.7L 1500... and i am interested in putting on a catback. im a mechanic for my own dirtbike (i race) and i have worked on cars before so i have a basic understanding on how to put things together on a car. my question is, i've been looking online for flowmaster catback kits that come with a 40 series muffler, the only ones i have seen were for a quad cab short bed hemi. would those kits work on my quad cab short bed 4.7? i cant see them not working because you can buy a 40 series muffler and put it on anything, if you get the one to match up with what you have (ie. center in dual out ect..)

 

those kits have specific lengths for the engine and chassis of the truck...if any part of the exhaust system is a different dimension, it may not fit.

 

hrmmm. my dad has a quadcab hemi, i'll get under it sometime this weekend and take some measurements. hopefully they are the same, i really really like the sound of the 40 with the american thunder pipes, but i cant find a kit anywhere.

 

forget the kit. buy the mufflers and go to the exhaust shop and have them lay out the piping you need. if you pay in cash some places wont charge sales tax
