Looking for recs on exhaust, intake and other hp aids
I'm picking up a 2007 Ram QC 1500 Laramie with the 5.7 next week. I have a few questions on things I'd like to do to increase hp.
1.) I'm planning on doing flows - should I go 2 chamber or 3? I want it to sound beefy but not so crazy I can't talk to the wife on the road with the windows up.
2.) From what I've read cold air intake systems will add about 20hp and are easy to install. Is there any on in particular that is well regarded around here for the Ram hemi's? I was considering the Air Raid.
3.) Any other mods that can be done by someone with minimal mechanical skills to boost hp?

You would be hard pressed to gain 20 hp from a cold air intake. It does seem to improve throttle response though. I think cat forward headers, cat back exhaust, cold air intake and a superchip flashpaqwould be a good start then if your looking for more, 260 cam, perma-cool cool pac e-fan and a 180 degree thermostat should get you up to about 350 rear wheel horse power.
