Default B-Pillar Removal?

Curious if anyone has had anyexperience removing the B-pillar on a newer ram with the side-impact airbags. I am guessing that if I remove the negative battery cable and let it sit for a few moments that I should be able to take off the B-pillar by popping the plastic tabs?

Anyone with help would be great.

I had a first responder friend tell me that if anything is plugged in to like the cig lighter that it will have enough juice to counter flow and set the bags off. I am not positive about that but he has the training.
Also he said leave everything unplugged and disconnected for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
