No, I have an '02 Overland with the 4.7 H.O. But I know a couple that are winter members at the golf resort where I'm assistant pro and they bought one overthe summer, a 4x4 limitedwith the 3.0 CRD and drove it from there summer home in Ontario to here in central Fl. and love it. The guy can't get into a single conversation at the golf course that he doesn't change it to that Jeep. He claims about 21 mpg everyday driving while in Canada and 26 mpg on the trip down here.

I test drove the diesel when I got my Jeep.

It had great pep...ran hard...was really quiet. On my test drive I didn't have my sales guy but his manager. I think I scared him just a little; don't think he expected a female to be willing to step on it that way. One of the service managers had been driving it and said he was getting 20+ MPG. I don't doubt it w/ the way that thing is set.

It gets a better power than the Hemi (ok it is 1 foot pound of torque but still ). I wont lie I liked it better than the Hemi (ok so I also drive a CTD so I might be biased but).

If they would but the diesel in any other package than the Overland I would have bought it. I just could not stomach the extra on it when I really didn't need it. I don't know why the insist on keeping the diesels out of all of the other packages. You can get the same engine in any model of Jeep all over the world....just not in the US. [:@]

I also drove the CRD when I boght our jeep. Found all the same as the Frog, we even liked all the options on th eOverland, but still couldn't stomach the 43k+ for a jeep. Especially when we paid 32k for our Ram. So now we have the 3.7 v6 and we pretty much dig it. Wish it has more pep, but its not bad and not bad on gas either.

Is it true Chrysler screwed the GC 4x4's up by going the soccer mom route and got rid of the Dana 30's up front in favor of CV axles on the 05+'s?
I personally thought it was a bad idea when they came out with it on the Liberty. I guess I'll just have to take better care of my '02 Overland to make it last if that's the case.
What's next, a Wrangler with CV joints?

Picked up a fully loaded 2007 CRD for a good price, tons of pull of the line.
