Junk, they are still selling a bunch of Chrysler junk with Jeep badges on them. The Liberty, Patriot and Compass are NOT real Jeeps and should have been axed.

And ditching the 4.7 in the Commander I can see, but offering nothing in between a 3.7 V6 and the Hemi is another mistake for the Grand Cherokee.

Who the hell is making these decisions?

Hammer, I feel you man. Agreed, and agreed! What they SHOULD do is take all the 4.7s they wont be putting in the GC and Commander and start sticking them in the Wrangler. That minivan V6 is WAY inadequate, and the one I test drove was a 2dr manual trans with the dinky tires. My 4.0L '00 Sport is IMHO grossly underpowered but would leave that JK in its dust.

Yep, back in the days before Chrysler got ahold of Jeep, I remember you could order a CJ with a 4, 6, or 8 cylinder engine...

I think it is stupid to get rid of the 4.7 in jeep. They should keep building/improving on it and get rid of that sorry V6.

Yeah that was when Jeep (AMC) was still in control and not Chrysler using the Jeep name. Jeep (AMC) really died when they sold out in 1987 and came out with the Yj. And then came the square headlights! My first vehicle was a 1982 Cj-7 Laredo with the Straight 6. That is the only vehicle I want back from my past.
