Jeeps The tough off road capability of ANY Jeep model from the Wrangler to the fully loaded Grand Cherokee keeps this cousin of Dodge the king of every hill.

Default 2001 Grand Cherokee

Looking for some advice, wifey really likes a Jeep up at a local lot:

Not familiar with any Jeep products myself. It's a V8 (not sure which motor, I'd guess the regular 4.7L) 4x4, CD/Tape Player, looks really nice. Sorry my picture is dark.

Are these fairly reliable vehicles? 4x4 system problematic like the Gen 2 Rams? I'd guess they probably don't see much more MPGs then my Ram, what's the general average? And do these have any kind of 3 row seating? Looks to seat five, just wondering if it might have a folding 3rd row, not sure if Jeep even did that

Thanks for any advice.

Stewie, IMO the 4.7 is prone to some very serious (expensive) issues as it gets some age on it. I think the 5.9 in your truck has more longevity in it than an 11 year old 4.7. Stick with what you got...

We are! Lot also has a Hyandi something that she likes. The Jeep is out of the question.

I'll be honest. I LOVED having a lifted, V8 4x4 SUV with lockers as a daily driver. Used to do a lot out of the Jeep when I didn't need the bed of the truck and it was pure fun to drive. BUT I'm really learning to like getting close to 40 MPG out of my new daily driver.

Maybe in my mid 40's I've finally started to mature a little...

Depending on the age and price, you may want to actually look at a new one. My Accent payments are only $133 a month and I'm saving about $100 a month in gas alone. So basically, a NEW car with 10/100,000 warranty is costing me less than $10 a week to own.

Or lease a Fiat Pop. A little smallish but 45 MPG and all of $99 a month to lease...
