2005 Jeep Cherokee Recall
100,000 Jeep Cherokees recalled because of water contamination
Washington (AP) -- DaimlerChrysler AG's Chrysler Group said Friday it will recall more than 100,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee sport-utility vehicles because water contamination of the transmission fluid could lead to fires under the hood.
The recall involves 2005 model year vehicles with 3.7 liter engines and automatic transmissions, the automaker said, accounting for about 45 percent of all Jeep Grand Cherokees sold in that year.
A spokesman said all owners will be notified of the recall in October.

that is probably why they had my dad bring in his jeep. he has alot of miles on ti and it was one of the first preprodcution ones, so they took ti and tested it for 3 days a few weeks ago.
nicky, they took ur dads jeep for three days, because u drove it and broke it, JK lol, i know ur a safe driver.... but just like every new car, they have to work the kinks out

of course all new cars have little problems. i have only driven that a single digits amount of times. remember i bought my own car Mike. but yeah his will be one of the first ones they check out because it has been on the road longer and has more miles and is still in the company.
we ordered a 2.7L 2006 stratus to replace it. that should be coming soon though. somebody rear ended the jeep so we had a 300c for a week or so and that was truly fun.

i know we r kinda hi-jacking this thread, but u shoulda called me up when u had the C, cept i dont know how safe i would feel, it would still be nice...
is this the only recall for the new GC?
don't worry bout hijacking it. i didn't feel comfortable driving it. i didn't really do much because i wasn't used to it. the hemi is nice. i passed some guy and it was like instance. turning esp off is fun too. i only drove it once. he wouldn't let me drive ti again because "it isn't a toy"...
well it might be second because i remember them replacing some hook or something holding something on the bottom.. might of just been exhaust or fuel tank, hell if i know, but i think they took care of those before it was mass produced, but don't mark my word.

first off it will always f*ck with you going between cars. the neon to the Pacifica to intrepid, all messed with me and took a little to get used to it. the view sucks on the 300c because of the high belt line and the more straight up and down windshield. in my intrepid the windshield seems like it goes over my head even though it isn't and being able to see alot of the ceiling was weird. the rear view was smaller too. it also takes time to get used to sensitivity of the pedals and ****. i could see myself rolling in a charger when i got used to it, but the change will f*ck with you at first no matter what it is. i drove a neon then drove my Friends tempo, compatible size and it was weird. i drove the Pacifica and took a friends explorer out and it was weird. i drive an intrepid and took a Taurus out and it was weird and probably the worst pos i ever set foot in. everything is weird until you get a chance to get used to it.
size between the intrepid and 300c didn't seem much different size had nothing to do with it.
