Hey DG, thanx for bringing this to our attention.I am a fan of the 'Sramblers'. A landscaping company here has a beautifully restored one and there is also an original in cherry condition. I have noticed two lately that appear somehow (???) different. Not sure what it is but maybe the extra large soft top. I thought they might be some kinda conversion. I prefer my Wrangler with the backseat removed and the 'bikini' on. It's too cold for that now and besides, my son just got liscensed and claimed the Jeep as his. BTW, here is Waco, TX. </P>

Looks like the back winder opens to access the cooler :-)</P><edited><editID>Quicksilver</editID><editDate>37984.4210648148</editDate></edited>

You're Welcome! I know of one old Scrambler around here (Michigan) but it's not in the best shape...

LOL! He claimed it as his, huh? That's just cause he knows he can get into trouble with it... LOL! BUt it's a Wrangler, it should be able to get out of that trouble just as easily, right? LOL!

Not picking on anyone since I am the new guy here.
I don't own a Dodge by the way, and don't own a DC
Jeep either. I own a '71 Jeep CJ-5. Saw that you
actually had a Jeep section on your board.

The "Scrambler is nothing like the Rampage or El
Camino. It's heritage goes further back than theirs.

The Scrambler, aka CJ-8, was a long wheelbase CJ.
It's predecessor was the CJ-6, which also was a
long wheelbase version of the CJ-5. The CJ-6 dates
back to about 1957, before the Rampage and the El
Camino.

I like the design of the new Scrambler, it has
maintained some of it's heritage, but also has the
new suspension of the Wrangler TJ.

Latest I had heard, was that the Scrambler would not
be put into production.

Hope the history lesson was helpful, and not hurtful,
not trying to step on anyones toes.

Thanks for the info!! I think it's cool no matter what it relates to... I think they should make some...

Have you seen the Jeep Concept the Rescue? It looks like a Jeep ****** concept just got more goodies... and less dramatic styling then the concept ******.

If you want a Jeep pickup better than a Scrambler... check out my article on http://www.pickuptruck.com on the AEV Jeep Brute. Not only is it a tough Jeep Wrangler based pickup, but it also can come w/ a 5.7L HEMI "MAGNUM" V-8...check out those Dodge Ram 1500 wheels too!</P>

Here is the article...</P>

i remember my dad's old 84 jeep scrambler. I wish he would have kept that thing for me to drive. The new ones need the roll bars on it to make it look like the old ones though.

I like the older CJ-8s better to me. To me they look more like a truck with a jeep front end and stuff. The new ones arnt bad but i just like the older ones. I wish i could find one to make a nice dune runner out of it but i have some many ideas for an off road vehicle that i dont know what to do.

I know of one old Scrambler around here (Michigan) but it's not in the best shape...
I live in MI and i know of one scrambler that is real real nice condition!!! and i know the owner it's sweet.
