Default 2000 Grand Cherokee 4x4 Question

Just bought a 00 GC. My question is what conditions should I use 4x4 part time and 4x4 full time? No owners manual so I can only guess slightly slippery roads part time and off road and heavy snow full time?

The full-time setting can be used just about whenever you want. It uses a planetary differential to allow some variation front-to-rear.

The part-time setting is good old-fashioned 4wd. Only for use on slippery surfaces such as snow, ice, or mud. If you are in part-time on a surface with good traction, the vehicle will bind badly around corners.

Full time 4x4 is for normal conditions including use on the highways. It doesn't matter whether if it's snowing or not and can be used part time if you want.

Part time is for snowy roads, slippery surfaces, etc as he's said. The engine generates more torque and shouldn't be used at high speeds or under normal conditions. I think the speed limit is stated in the book, my guess is it's 35mph max speed.
