What a bummer...but would it be to optimistic to think that a new, cleaner CRD is in development?

My apologies D_X, unfortunately at this time, DaimlerChrysler has not released any plans that indicate the future production of the Jeep Wrangler with the option of a CRD in North America.

Keep checkin' in, you never know

The liberty got better mpg with the smaller diesel that was available in them before they switched to the 2.8 for the US market. I'd like to see a smaller 30+mpg diesel engine in a wrangler. They all have enough torque to move the vehicle. My worry with a diesel is the Colorado winter. Diesels dont tend to be as reliable for people working in Colorado in the winters because of the cold start issue. Maybe its not a problem anyway, but jeeps wranglers are supposed to be great work vehicles that can get us anywhere we need, keep em that way

Hello stump_breaker,

Unfortunately, I do not believe that this vehicle can be special ordered in the United States with that engine. However, to confirm this officially, my best suggestion for you would be to contact your local Jeep dealership. However, with constantly shifting market trends, I would hesitate to discount the possibility of that engine being implemented in the Jeep Wrangler in the future.
