The Liberty never should of been introduced in the first place.

Leave it to Chrysler to take a perfectly good design in the Jeep Cherokee and replacing it with something as cheap as the Liberty.

Good job

Default Jeep Grand Cherokee Catalytic Converter

I just recently bought a 99 Grand Cherokee Laredo with the 4.0 straight six engine. It has 73k miles on it. I had been driving it all weekend, about 500 miles total, and parked it in my friends driveway so that we could talk. The car was off for about 10-15 minutes, and when I started it up again, it began to shutter and tremor horribly. I shut the car off, waited a minute, and turned it back on. Same problem. So here I am, 30 miles away from home, with a car shuttering and threatening to die. At first I thought it was the oil, but I had just gotten an oil change. Well, as I began to drive down the block to drop off the car at a family member's house, the check engine light came on. After a couple of minutes of driving, the light started flashing, and the manual said to pull over right away so as not to cause any damage to the catalytic converter. We have had a lot of Jeeps in the past, both with the 4.0 and 5.2 motors, and never have we had a problem like this. Does anybody know what the heck is going on??? Please tell me if anybody has any similar situations
