Default CAI and other performace etc.

Has anyone installed a Cold air intake on their Dodge Shadow?

If so, have you noticed any power differences, or was it a waste of $300.

has anyone else added any relatively cheap aftermarket parts to their shadow that added more horsepower.

Im trying or hoping rather, to go from the 100 horses under the hood, and adding 20-30 more.

I would find Bassboy on here. He built a cold air intake for his shadow that was kick ***. But there are not a lot of mods for these motors. Get a higher flow muffler, higher flow filter, and upgrade your ignition a little and you'll be in pretty good shape.

http://www.allpar.com/eek/index.html check them out... they have an *** load of listings and a high flow muffler??? umm and pay what $100 just go to jegs and get a dynomax catback exhaust they sound good and givea nice upgrade for about $106gives more tq all the way around, as well as a k&n filter and ported intake manifold, and the stock ignition system is fine but it'd be nice to run some ngk iiridiums and not have to change them for over a year or so....just do what was stated beforeget the exhaust mani ported and a high flow cat w. a 2.5 you'll be good for about 118whp 150ft lbs/tq and you'll be good til u can get a nice mild cam....camshafts can be looked up through comp cams and other such companys you can also just advanced the timing http://www.allpar.com/mopar/cam-timing.html but i have not done this but i've heard it'll yield great results

what motor do you have? 2.2/2.5 are basically the same just longer stroke on the 2.5 the 3.0 v6 has a bit more mods that can be done but they will be listed upon other sites

well what do you need to know "how" to do?? change the coil is like 2 bolts and a plug. change ur exhaust is undo some bolts and drop down and replace....they tell u how to changea tbi car to mpfi. and even turbo charge it....so whatcha need to know lmao...my current project with my duster is to take the turbo from my shadow convertible and run it on there. tbi and all...while the turbo convertible gets a bigger garrett t03 turbo and an intercooler, with ebc set to 14psi w. a water/alcohol set up

good luck on get the tbi engine to run with the turbo. The compression is too high and the map sensor will kill the engine as soon as get into boost. Also tbi won't have enough fuel to keep you from blowing the engine up. I give 20 mins before the motor goes. Also you would need to fab a return lines and feed lines for the turbo also exhaust would have to be swap out. Don't think you can swap the computer to the turbo either still won't run since the turbo computer will be looking for 3 more injectors and the signal from the distriber. Would be one big headache but it would all bolt together fine.

that's why you get the head shaved, turbo camand switch to turbo pistons...and you can get a bigger injector, and use a tuner like an old school safc. and as for the motorblowing i really shouldn't have any issues with that.....also in mexico in the early 90's...91-92 there were chrysler shadows released with TBI Turbo motors so it can be done.

Why would you shave the head with turbo pistons? To let you know the turbo guys like me put tbi cams in our cars since they got a better profile. The injector would have to be pretty big to feed it. The rods in cb tbi are weak. Why try redo turbo setup in a shadow when they came that way with factory parts. I have converted a 91 sundance to 89 turbo 2.5. Splice the harness from the 89 to the 91 the only problem I had was the airbags weren't an option in 89 so I drove it for a year with out them and parted it out when I got my jeep.

What trans are going to use? 5speed would last but a non turbo auto would die fast.
