1988 Aires won't start HELP!!!
Was stored for 1 year, put in gas stablizer. Went to start today, wouldn't start on it's own. Sprayed in starter fluid& it would start, but not continue to run. Tried gas into carb. & start, but not run. Doesn't seem to be getting gas into carb. any help?
Thank you.
Thank you.
You might want to start by disconnecting the fuel line at the carb, put the line in a coffee can and have some one turn over the engine and look a what comes out the line, if nothing comes out Id start with the fuel pump, while the line is still un hooked take an air compressor and give a couple quick puffs of air in it, if there is a blockage this should dislodge it. After you get it running you might want try putting a product called " Sea-Foam" its a gas additive that cleans the fuel lines and carb/injectors.Put it inthe tank then fill it, let it run and eventually it should smooth out and run fine. Ive used it with a lot of success Even my 87 Aries coupe that was sittng in a garage for a little over a year started running better after putting it in the tank.
After I unhooked and tried to strart there seems to be some gas coming through the one line I unhooked. I tried putting an additive into gas - didn't do anything. Now I'm going to try spraying some carb. cleaner in. I'll see what that does. Thanks for the ideas.
